Mauricio Macri calls key PRO party meeting for March 19

Buenos Aires, March 4 (NA) – Former President Mauricio Macri has called a meeting with PRO members for March 19, with the aim of reordering the objectives of his political space for this year, without losing sight of the 2027 elections. Additionally, they will discuss the current representation of PRO in Congress and the relationship with governors, which is one of the most relevant topics for Macrism. Days ago, Macri began a series of meetings with a focus on the 2027 presidential elections and to discuss among its members what role PRO will play and how it will continue its relationship with La Libertad Avanza (LLA). For this reason, the 'key' summit at Parque Norte aims to demonstrate its own identity, plan future strategies, and, consequently, strengthen the space founded by the former national leader. They assure that the start of this federal agenda, with Macri's tours of the country's interior, will begin with a trip to Puerto Madryn: it is expected that on March 5, Macri will participate as the main speaker at the PescAR 2026 Forum to analyze the challenges of the Argentine fishing industry and its export potential. Likewise, he will take advantage of his visit to reactivate the party's leadership, reinforce the strategic debate in a key sector, and stop the transfer of members to other political spaces, as happened last year with LLA. At the end of last month, the holding of the PRO National Council was rescheduled due to Macri's agenda, and for this reason, this meeting was defined at Parque Norte. The meeting will be organized by the national deputy and party general secretary, Fernando de Andreis. In a dialogue with the Argentine News Agency, the Buenos Aires legislator Silvia Lospennato confirmed her presence at the event, which will take place at Parque Norte; the attendance of María Eugenia Vidal, Hernán Lombardi, and all PRO members (councilors, legislators, mayors) who wish to participate in that day is also expected. Although the meeting will be held, in principle, for administrative reasons related to the PRO National Council statute, it will also be a political event where Macri will establish the direction of the force, and his speech will be the most anticipated of that day.
